Around 40 to 50 million disposable plastic cups are used in Australia each year.
Despite this, only 9% of all plastic ever made has been recycled.
Over 30 million tonnes of aluminium is recycled worldwide each year, cementing its status as one of the most recycled materials on the planet.
Of the almost 1.5 billion tonnes of aluminium ever produced, 75% remains still in circulation for productive use today.
